Have you ever passed a sign that clearly was labeled: “WET PAINT” and found yourself overcome with desire to reach out and touch the surface you were being warned about? How did you feel with fingers, hands or possibly the seat of your paints slathered with wet paint? Was it a picket fence?O.K. I admit it. I’ve done the very same thing and I felt absolutely ridiculous with battleship gray paint stuck to my backside from the sport bleachers at my old high school!
The primary reason most men color their hair is to rid themselves of gray hair in order to look and feel younger. Some long for black hair, brown hair color or just their natural hair color. While, there is certainly nothing wrong with that, men should also pay attention to warnings on the packages of chemical dyes.
Permanent and semi-permanent synthetic dyes usually contain extremely harmful and toxic chemicals like P-Phenylenediamine (PPD), ammonia, peroxide, lead acetate and a slew of others that can cause damage to the hair shaft. They also have caused severe allergic reaction on the scalp, neck and face of several dermatologists’ patients.
Progressive chemical dyes and hair color formulas have been targeted at men for the past 40 years. These change the color gradually. Did you know that Grecian Formula was banned in Canada and European countries because it contained lead acetate, at the time? It is still sold and approved for use in the United States, but it must carry a warning label about the lead acetate in the product* marketed in the states.
Men, there is no need to take risks with your health or hair color when you dye it naturally. Even if, like most men, you just want to get rid of those pesky grays.
Lustrous Henna ®for hair is non-toxic, completely safe and 100% natural.
