I have osteoarthritis. Instead of working out in the gym, using a treadmill or walking for exercise: I work out in a pool, doing aqua aerobics and water jogging. As long as I work out in the water, I have freedom of movement and I love it.

What in the world does that have to do with Lustrous Henna®?

This: Sometimes you have to try an alternative treatment to get the healthy results you want and need.

Many people are afraid to try alternative treatments or therapies even when the benefits are clearly apparent. However, usually they find that they not only are very satisfied with the results, but eventually can’t imagine their life without it!

An example, in my case, was in recognizing there was a proven alternative to using my traditional pure henna that could save me lots of prep time and also enhance the condition of my hair. I never imagined pure henna that was lab certified and tested could remain totally natural. An added plus is that it’s mixed with natural botanical extracts to create a rainbow of natural shades in hair colors that bring out my own natural beauty.

I had suffered severe allergic reactions to chemical dyes. When I decided to look for natural alternative, I used a product that I thought was totally natural, called, “black henna”. It was not.  Thus my scalp was damaged with both types of dyes and it took quite a while for my hair to grow back and scalp to heal and feel healthy. I also had a small chemical burn bald spot where very little hair grew, in the back of my head at the base of my neck. 

 

At that time, I was quite embarrassed about the condition of my hair because I also sang in front of small audiences at special celebrations and events. I mainly sing jazz and R&B -and even though I didn't care to, I had to admit that on those occasions, I looked better donning a hair piece or a wig.

Ultimately, I learned about using pure henna and indigo to dye my hair black. I would spent hours waiting for the pure henna's dye release to occur and then I would follow this up with an application of pure indigo. I was grateful for this method because I finally got my black hair covered. I still had to do a lot to condition my hair and try to get it to grow. It started to grow slowly. I continued to search for an easier way and this led me to finding the Saba Botanical website. I read about 100 % natural Lustrous Henna® and I admit that I was skeptical at first that with such a fast dye release, my hair would achieve color. I also called and spoke directly with Syed Abbas (the inspiration behind Lustrous Henna® and owner of Saba Botanicals of USA.) who graciously answered my questions.

So I decided to: Take ‘a leap of faith’. Not blind faith though, it was an ‘educated faith’.

Now, my hair has finally grown back in all areas. I was so happy with my singing at the last couple events. I could finally show my natural hair and concentrate on my performance instead of being worried about my looks. I felt like a tremendous burden had been lifted and I loved reflecting my joy in my singing.

My hair condition is probably the healthiest it’s been in years. It is very soft and my curl pattern is looser, which I like. Also, I can easily cover my gray roots and can do so when needed. This is important because my hair has been growing in quicker lately and even though I’m letting it grow, I still want to cover up the gray roots when they come in. Now I do it naturally and have only experienced positive results. I’m very happy that I no longer have to wait several hours for a traditional henna dye release and that I can dye my hair when I only have an hour or two. I use Lustrous Henna®  Soft Black and love it!

I'm a 54 yrs. old "natural" brunette and LOVE Lustrous Henna and their wonderful customer service with Syed. 

 A few months ago I was diagnosed with Lymphoma at Mayo Clinic with follow up 3 mos. visits to a Hematologist, blood specialist there. I then began to think about changing some of my lifestyle habits and a NATURAL Hair Color was an easy one to change. I am not on chemo since my Dr. says my own immune system is trying to fight this cancer. Chemo kills the good & the bad, therefore I'm thankful I do still have my hair at this time.

My friend introduced me to Lustrous Henna when I complemented her hair. I didn't even know she used any type of color on it, because it looked so natural. She ordered my first time with her order, to try it out. So I have twice now, due to shorter hair. So glad I heard about this henna from her!

Q. My hair is dry, Will Lustrous Henna® work on my hair?

Dear Saba Botanical,

I have been using regular hair dyes containing PPD for years and never had a problem, then all of a sudden I had a severe allergic reaction.  I had spent several months recovering from this in and out of hospitals, on steroids, antibiotics and IV medications.

As a result from this reaction I have lost most of my beautiful black thick hair due to scar tissue left behind.
After months of my awful ordeal, being a middle aged women I began to see gray hair but knew I could never ever use hair dye again and wasn't sure what to do.  I ended up trying every kind of hair dye I could find not containing PPD. Unfortunately, nothing was covering my grays but instead always grabbing a light red tint on my black hair.

Hallelujah!  I was just about to give up after trying so many different products on- line and I found your web site containing Lustrous Henna hair color.  I only ordered one pack at the time not with high expectations but tried it out and it worked!  My grays were covered and my black hair thicker and had a beautiful shine to it.

Q. How much Lustrous Henna we need for one application?

Q. How does Lustrous Henna differs from regular plain Henna?

A. Regular henna is just grounded powder of leaves from plant of Lasonia Inermis that give only one color: an orange-red. Lustrous Henna differs in many ways.

• It has a very quick hair dye release compared to hours with plain henna.
• It is still all natural yet combined with other nutrient-rich plants and other botanicals that condition the hair.
• It comes in a variety of hair color shades.

Q. How long Lustrous Henna lasts?

A. 3-4 weeks the color will start to fade. The best part is since Lustrous Henna fades gradually, no  ugly distinctive color difference shows with growth, like it does  with a chemical dye. Depending on the type of hair and how many times a person shampoos, in most people it completely fades away in 6-12 weeks.

Q: Can I see actual color on my hair immediately after the application?

A: You will see the color, but the full color will appear in 24 to 48 hours. The color gets darker within this time period and the actual coverage is established after this period. However, the color you get immediately after the application is still beautiful and lustrous. It will only get better over the next couple of days.  

Q. I have lot of gray hair, will I be able to cover gray?

A. Gray hair is usually coarser and dryer then the other type of hair, as they tend to lose natural oils. Up to 20% gray can be covered easily by any shade of Lustrous Henna’s semi-permanent natural hair color dye. Individuals with more than 20% gray may require two or three applications to get a desired shade. Once you achieve the desired shade, it is normally easy to maintain afterwards.

This testimonial is long overdue because it took just over four months that Lustrous Henna has produced such positive results. Q.   How does Lustrous HennaⓇ natural herbal hair color dye differ from synthetic chemical hair dye?

A.  Chemical Dye:  Most synthetic chemical dyes contain harsh chemicals like  PPD and bleaching agents, such as ammonia and or peroxide which damage the outer most layer and create capillaries in the hair shaft to deposit hair dye inside. The next application again does the same to hair shaft. This results in loss of strength, causes roughness over time, gradually damage hair and scalp permanently.

Natural Herbal Hair Color Dye:   Lustrous HennaⓇ colors hair by coating the hair shaft. It provides thickness to hair and color sticks as a semi-permanent color. Q. What is PPD?

A: Paraphenylenediamine - PPD (a coal tar derivative) is a main coloring agent in most  chemical hair dyes. This coal tar derivative is also used with other names in chemical dyes.

Q. What are the allergic reactions PPD can cause?

A: Allergic reactions caused by hair dye containing PPD:  In mild cases, usually only involves dermatitis to the upper eyelids or the rims of the ears. In more severe cases there may be marked reddening, swelling and blistering of the scalp and the face. The eyelids may close completely and allergic contact dermatitis reaction become widespread.

"Love your product! I am 85% grey and ordered the Henna Soft Black along with the Indigo. I used three parts of Henna Soft Black and one part of Indigo. I love the results. I got a very dark brown to black color hair which was exactly what I was looking for.

I used chemical dyes two or three times and developed severe reactions to the chemicals used in those products. With the Henna Soft Black and Indigo I just get great looking hair with no reactions. Would recommend to anyone looking for natural products".
