Virgin Coconut Oil Benefits and Hair Care Application
Virgin Coconut oil is unadulterated and free of chemical or other additives. Virgin Coconut oil is an excellent pre-shampoo treatment because it not only coats the hair, it penetrates the hair shaft.
Coconut oil has been used to promote hair growth, literally, for centuries. Protein loss is reduced and hair is protected from drying and breaking due to the medium chain triglycerides (MCT) contain within coconut oil. This is also a substance that is contained in sebum (an oily substance secreted from the sebaceous glands that keep the scalp moist). The scalp contains ‘friendly’ bacteria that break down the MCT into free fatty acids. This is what provides protection against scalp problems such as dandruff and head lice. The oil also adds a radiant sheen to the hair.
Use with Natural Botanical Products from Saba Botanical
1. Oil your scalp and roots, then section your hair, lightly applying oil from ends to roots prior to using Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder. Start off with a light oiling of ½ tsp. or less, until the proper amount is obtained.
2. Wrap Hair in plastic wrap/plastic cap and leave oil on for about 30 minutes. If you want a hot oil treatment, add heat for 15-20 minutes.
3. Wet hair and apply prepared Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste* to hair with fingertips (a small rubber spatula can aid in application, but not necessary). Making the shampoo paste takes about 30 seconds. Press and lightly massage throughout hair. (follow-up gently-using a large-tooth comb for full coverage). Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse out until hair is completely free of shampoo.
4. There is no need to follow up with a conditioner if you have fine to normal hair. However, if you insist on using a conditioner try Imbue™ Nuturing Conditioner. If you have extremely dry, course or damaged hair, try So Natural™ Moisture Gloss Conditioner from Saba Botanical of USA.

Would you like to make your own virgin coconut oil? It’s really quite simple and you will avoid chemical additives.
* For Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste: Depending on length of hair, simply mix 2-3 tbsp. of the dry shampoo powder with enough water to make a paste with the consistency of pancake batter. (A small rubber spatula, plastic spoon or fork can be used for mixing paste.)
