DIY Acne Treatment -Multani Mitti Clay (Fullers Earth)
Multani Mitti Clay (Fullers Earth) is a soft powder that has been used for washing for thousands of years by native peoples in Asia. It’s also been effectively used for a number of skincare remedies such as acne treatment and more.

Acne Treatment Face Mask
(deep cleans skin and unclogs pores)
- ¼ c. Lustrous Henna® Multani Mitti Clay
- ¼ c. Lustrous Henna® Orange Peel & Lemon Powder
- 2 tablespoons oatmeal powder (oatmeal ground in blender)
- water
Mix all powders together. Take just a couple tablespoons of this mixture and add enough water to make a paste. Apply to face and neck. Work gently in circular motion when applying paste, especially to nose and chin area. Leave on for 15 minutes, and then gently wash off with cool water. Save dry mixture in air-tight container or zip-lock bag and store until needed.
Multani Mitti Clay Face Mask
Mix a tablespoon of multani mitti clay powder (fuller’s earth) with water (or rosewater) and make a thin paste; leave on for no more than 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water (clear, no soap). Use every other day or at least twice a week.
A note of caution about DIY Acne Treatment:
- Multani Mitti Clay (Fullers Earth) should not be left on the skin for an excessive amount of time because it could cause over-drying.
- Since it is extremely absorbent, Multani Mitti Clay (Fullers Earth) should not be used on very dry or highly sensitive skin.
- Please avoid contact with area around the eye. Also, do a small patch test to make sure you are not allergic to any ingredients, prior to apply mask to entire area.
