DIY Hair Masks for Special Occasions
A special occasion doesn’t mean you need to spend lots of cash to look fabulous. Need a hair treatment that will bring the radiance back to your locks? The protein in the hair masks will strengthen hair follicles. The vitamins, minerals and fatty acids also help stop hair loss and add suppleness and luster to your hair. Try these hair masks and the added bonus: you don’t have to leave home have amazing hair!
Honey Bunch Protein Hair Mask for All Hair Types
Just add the following to your favorite conditioner. (I know that it’s Imbue™ Natural Conditioner*.)
2-3 tablespoons of honey, 1-2 whole eggs, 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, almond oil or your favorite oil. Mix with enough conditioner to make a thick pudding-like mask (not runny). If you desire it to be even thicker, then add a couple tablespoons of yogurt and mix well.
Cover your head with shower cap; then cover with a towel to keep the heat in. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Final part of rinse: use cold water for about a minute to close follicles.
Hair Mask to Moisturize Dry Hair
Make a paste by mixing:
2 egg yolks, 1 tsp. olive oil, 1 tsp. almond oil, 2 tsp. brandy, 2 tbsp. each of Amla, Reetha and Shikakai powder. Enough water to make paste
Gently part hair and massage mixture on the scalp, first, then throughout hair. Cover your head with shower cap; then cover with a towel to keep the heat in. Leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo with Imbue™ Natural Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Final part of rinse: use cold water for about a minute to close follicles. Repeat it for 2-3 times a week, when needed.
Oily-Honey Hair Mask for Extra-Dry, Damaged Hair
Mix a teaspoon of each: olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Massage and smooth gently into the scalp. Do NOT comb hair with honey in it, USE YOUR HANDS to smooth.
Cover your head with shower cap; then cover with a towel to keep the heat in. Leave on for 20 minutes. Shampoo with Imbue™ Natural Shampoo or Lustrous Henna® Shampoo Powder. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Final part of rinse: use cold water for about a minute to close follicles. Repeat this 3-4 times a week. This treatment will strengthen hair follicle, reconstruct, moisturize, soften hair and remove frizz.
