Amla Powder History (Indian Goose Berry, Emblica officinalis)
Amla Powder made from Amla fruit is more commonly known as Indian gooseberry. Its botanical name is: Emblica officinalis. Its synonyms are: Awla, Amalake, Aamla, Aavalaa, Amlaki, and numerous others. It is a fruit-producing tree of 12-18 feet high that grows in central and northern India. The flowers are greenish-yellow. The fruit is edible.
